Crane max allowable weight specifications are just a rough suggestion anyway, should be fine...

Eh, that’ll buff right out.

You’re assuming anybody bothered to check. “Eh, it’ll be fine. Trust me. I know cranes.”

Hmm, if it wasn’t done before it is now... I guess planes are heavy.
Should have used a helicopter (maybe more than one):

When you’ve got 1.3 billion people, a few are going to occasionally going to be squished by a plane falling from a crane. It’s just odds.

This needs to be a “kinja’d” gif. Now.

I’m thinking that A320 outweighs the Tu-134 by a few pounds. Looks like the engines have been removed, too.

I guess Bo DOESN’T know cranes...

I could make the GIF, but I don’t know how to add the text.

This was two years ago. BBC reported that they used it for training purposes anyway. Probably right there where they dropped it.

Impressed that this guy didn’t even flinch, or move(too much effort I guess)
![]() 07/30/2019 at 15:35 |

Yeah, that’s why I said you could use more than one.

One of these was hit by a SAM in Chechnya killing all 127 on board. A helicopter that holds 127 people... (granted if it had been carrying fewer maybe it would have been less vulnerable to the SAM)
Edit: Shit I was wrong. There were 147 on board, 20 lived...

Wow...I mean, I know they were packed in like sardines, but still.

1 person gets out of the cab of the truck/crane, and there are still very clearly at least 3 people in there afterwards
![]() 07/30/2019 at 16:19 |

4 people total in that cab. At least.

That crane looks hilariously small to be lifting AN AIRPLANE
![]() 07/30/2019 at 16:33 |

Apparently it was.

dang, seemed to be doing ok until the entire boom failed...

He told them it was a bad idea, but they didn’t listen.

I can’t tell if the plane hit the boom or not. It looks like it contacts the boom before it folds up. It might have been enough crane, but once the boom was struck, it was over.
![]() 07/31/2019 at 11:03 |

Good point. The boom does fold right where the wing is.
Ain’t physics crazy?

Considering this looks like India where safety precautions are probably incredibly lax....this.
